The Caribbean Climate Innovation Series features innovative climate actions by Caribbean civil society and key government and private sector partners to build resilience and foster inclusive decision-making. It aims to share innovations that can be scaled up or replicated by other civil society organisations and their partners across the region.
The series was developed by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI), Climate Analytics and International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) under the regional project, Enhancing Caribbean Civil Society’s Access and Readiness to Climate Finance. The project is being implemented from 2020-2023 by CANARI and national designed authorities from Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Suriname. The lead authority is the Climate Change Division, Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation in Jamaica. The project is funded by the Green Climate Fund’s Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme.
The series includes 8 case studies:
- Empowering rural women and climate smarting agro-processing in Antigua and Barbuda
- Community-led coral reef restoration at Laughing Bird Caye National Park, Belize
